The Project
Echoing Lights is an interactive media installation designed for the Lights On Stratford festival. Inspired by the phenomenon of light echo—where light from stars, such as red supergiants, illuminates cosmic space to reveal clouds that are otherwise hidden in darkness—the installation invites participants to access a digital interface through a QR code to create their own light sources by tapping their screens. These interactions are then projected, revealing colorful, virtual light echoes as the light scatters and reflects across the screen, unveiling cosmic dust clouds between stars. Connecting to the Lights On Stratford festival theme of "Reimagining", Echoing Lights encourages participants to go beyond non-human life to explore, create, and reimagine their own light echoes.
